Stony Fork Trail - Pisgah National Forest

I did this short hike on July 7th, 2026 with my wife and her sister, as well as my dog. It was a quick and easy hike with a nice pay-off: a series of water features tucked in the woods. The hike starts just off the side of Chestnut Creek Road, a half-mile from its intersection with NC 151, and is essentially in the middle of a semi-rural neighborhood.

After about 3/4 mile of walking, turn off the main trail to get to the water feature. The descent is a bit steep and narrower than the main trail.
