I hiked this trail on the afternoon of Saturday, May 7th 2022 with my mom. The trail was unfortunately very crowded.
A short while up the trail is a pretty outcropping which had some beautiful mountain laurel bloom framing the mountains for us.
Several portions of the trail are surrounded by mountain laurel, which makes you at times feel almost shut in!
After just a couple miles, you reach the top. A little further takes you to the famous outcropping.
Off in the distance you can see Tablerock Mountain, where my Boy Scout Troop used to always rappel.
