Hooker Falls - DuPont State Forest

I have hiked this trail three time; the first time with my parents and brother on August 12th, 2018, the second time on October 31st, 2020 with a group of friends, and the third on October 30th, 2022, with my girlfriend.

The first time I did this trail, we entered from the Hooker Falls Access and hiked the Hooker Falls Trail; this route was not like the one shown on the map at the bottom of the page.

I didn't take any pictures of the trail itself, but it was a short, 1/4 mile walk down a wide gravel road. Once there, you an clearly see Hooker Falls, which is a short, wide waterfall fed by the Little River. It was the first of the four waterfalls we would go on to see that day: first Triple Falls, followed by High Falls and finally Bridal Veil Falls.

The second time I did this hike, we came via Triple Falls Trail after having visited all of the afformentioned falls save Bridal Veil Falls. This time, however, the route the trail took had been altered significantly from the first time I went there. The previous trail was either under repair or being decommissioned after being heavily damaged in a storm.

On my third visit to the falls I was visited with some great fall foliage, as well as an interesting encounter with a fish apparently trying to jump the falls. If anyone can identify the fish or its behavior, I would appreciate an explanation.

For a nice simple, zoomed-in map of the popular section of DuPont State Forest, see here.

You can see a nice map of DuPont State Forest which includes the trail names and distances here.
